Our lecturer, we address him as Mr. Joe, he said that by Week 12 he will be finishing all his lectures.
And therefore, a few weeks before, he asked us during lecture in lecture theater, wanna have a competition between class or not?

Crazy Class Competition held on Week 13.

Most of the classes agreed. But still, some are not participating.

So, our class, TB 5 is participating..

A week before competition, our class think of cancel of our participation.
But, lecturer do not allow us to do so.

No choice. Begin to practice.

We practiced a day before the competition and few hours on competition day.
The total hours we practiced are less than 10 hours!

We didn’t expect any winnig since we do it last minutes.
We were quite surprised the moment our class name announced.

I still remember what Elaine said.
“We got listen wrongly ah?? Is it sure our class??”

And so, the Bronzes are rewards for us

It was happened few weeks ago..

I asked JY what is the consequence if never go for the camp?

She replied, “I’ll advice you to move out from this house.”

Wow…

So, what is the big deal of not going to this camp??
Though I live in a Buddhist house, but does that mean I have to join myself into all this Buddhist Society events?

NO

Before this, we had an agreement that,

if you never join event hold by Buddhist Society is OK. As long as you are respect and responsible in the house.

Somehow, I think, she misuse the word “responsible”.
Perhaps she thinks that joining this camp is a responsible of a resident in the house.

But I don’t think that.

In fact, I do think that she wants face.
As she is the Chairperson of UTAR (Kampar) Buddhist Society.
She is one of the developer of Buddhist House (Fa Yue Ge).
And so, when in the camp, people ask about her Buddhist House residents, why never join this camp?
Sure she loses face.

We had a house meeting on this stuff.
JY absent for this meeting. I think she felt clumsy anyway.

Most of the house residents don’t want to go. Due to some reasons.

But our reasons are not reasons for JY. She said all these are excuses.

Damien stated that before this he wanna face-to-face talk to JY regards on not going for this camp.
But, JY refused to do so.

Thanks to the technology today, they both chat through MSN.

They argued.

JY insisted that, instead of reasons, it was excuses.

For me, she is stubborn and unreasonable.

She cannot FORCE us to go.

Is the last week of 1st semester and also the revision week before study leave for one week.

After study leave, will be sitting for final exam for 2 weeks.

I have to prepare more in order to get better results as my coursework marks are not that good..

In this last week of semester, I’ve played truant as I lazy to go Uni..

Even the last class of semester I absent for it. Not purposely, but due to my period pain

Coursework mark has revealed. Suppose Accounting can get more marks. But then, thanks to Khai Ling who missed some documents to be inserted into the assignments. Which pull our marks down.

She kept on said SORRY. But, the word “sorry” got no use.

I got an average marks for all of my coursework.. Which I really need to add more effort in my final exam in order to pass all..

I do not aim high… I do not dare to put too much hope on myself..

It has been one month plus I didn’t update my blog!

Firstly, I am busy with assignments..

Secondly, have to prepare for mid term examinations..

Thirdly, have to attends meetings for Buddhist Society’s Ad Hoc Committee, for Guan Yin Series Exhibition in UTAR..

Fourth, have to prepare with presentations.. Individual and group for Public Speaking and Communication subject..

Fifth, next Monday till Friday have to busy with the exhibition that will hold in UTAR..

Sixth, have to prepare for final examinations.. That will decide I need to RESIT/REPEAT or not..

Seventh, class always end at 5 or 6pm. At least, by 4pm

Eight, ETC…

Today I just done with my mid term examinations.. Did some silly mistakes and minor spelling mistakes..
Never mind..

LEARN FROM WRONG

-UTAR Orientation Days-

This Orientation last for almost a week..

The first day I step in UTAR as a student of them also the first day of Orientation Day.
New students have to queue up at the Block C staff lounge to redeem freebies.
As soon as I got my freebies (I’m the first one as I met my ex-schoolmates friend who queueing in front), we walked to DDK 1 aka Lecture Theater 1..
It was my first time step in Lecture Theater.. It was huge..
Then the talks begin.
Which is video, that streamed from Block A. This is due to exceed of students.

After the first talks, we are required to wear the lanyard and temporary ID card given.
Also, UTAR tee shirt as well.

After lunch, we all headed to Block A, Herritage Hall for another talks.
It last for about few hours and it is till 6pm.
~Tiring~
Plus it is quite chilling in the hall…

Reached home, I have to clean up my room..
Sweep and mop..

After that, unpack all the clothes I’ve brought ..

Finally, settle down everything and have a nice rest for the first night at WestLake, Kampar

So, I moved into my new sharing room at the house at WestLake on 22nd May 2008.
Arrived there at about 7.25am.

Once I get down from car, I saw two girls. And they both very good to me.
Greet me nicely with smiling face..
Asked me if there is any help is needed..
They were Annie and Poicia.

And get to know my roommate, Ming Pei.
The house owner’s relative.

Afternoon after Uni Orientation, I back to the house by walking at first with Annie and Poicia.
Then, almost at the Uni guard house, Hui Nee’s Dad fetched us back to home.

And I started to clean up my room.
Mop at least 3 times. To make sure it’s clean.

After that, I arrange my stuffs in the room and move the wardrobe to another side of the room.

And then, I actually realized, if we place the bed in the room, it will be super pack and can say is almost no place for others like study desk.

I apologize for the previous post “How Can It Be“. I just speaking out my mind.

Now, I feel good enough just sleep on matress..

On 22nd May 2008, is my first time as UTARian, step into the campus.

I awaken at 5.20am and get myself done then load my luggages and stuffs into the car.

Brother fetch me to Kampar at 6.10am and reached nearby the campus at 6.40am.
As it is still early, bro and I went to a mamak shop to have breakfast.

Then bro fetch me go to the house at WestLake that a sharing room I’ve rented.
To unload my luggages and stuffs into the room.

Then bro fetch me go to UTAR Block C, for redemption of goodies.

Bro leave to Sunway College, Ipoh to sit for his examinations.

P/S: Will be back in meantime to update about Orientation.

This afternoon I call up Jun Yi, who is soon-to-be one of my housemate at Kampar.
She is the one who in charge in everything for room rental things.

The purpose of my calling are to ask some questions regarding about the house.

Me: Hello Jun Yi.

Jun Yi: Oh yes, anything?

Me: May I know how many girls will move in on 22nd? (As she told me to better move in on 22nd May)

Jun Yi: Oh, basically today all of us gonna move in already. Just left you one.

Me: Uik? (Didn’t update me. Anyway, she is the one who ask me move in on 22nd May)

Jun Yi: Yaya… And tonight we’re gonna have some meeting of all housemates about the house we’re living.

Me: Errm… OK.. May I know anything that I should bring go? Example like basin for wash clothes and so on..

Jun Yi: Oh.. You brings detergent, as we here already got a washing machine..

Me: Oh really? OK. Can I bring electric kettle as well?

Jun Yi: Yes yes, you can bring it. And you have to bring your own mattress as we find out that this is actually quite private. And we don’t have bed. Because the owner said the rooms are quite small for bed. So, he afraid will have very minor space after placing bed.

Me: And you mean we have to sleep on floor by bringing our own mattress??

Jun Yi: Ya.

Me: Err…. OK.. Thanks. See ya tomorrow.

Jun Yi: Bye.

I will be like a noob who move in lastly.

About the bed.
Before this, another girl, Jacqueline who also soon-to-be my housemate, told us that bed will be provided.
NOW, there is NO bed.
Is this how they negotiate a business of renting room to student?

HOW CAN IT BE?

Last minutes only tell me NO BED.

NO!!

Is I call only she tell me!

Unless I will never know until I move into the house!

Got a bed or not, is not a big deal.
Yeah, I know. At least I got a good shelter, got a place to stay.
But I just couldn’t stand that the owner of the house make a sudden notice about no bed.

HOW CAN IT BE?

Is this the way to negotiate business??

I mentioned before that I rent a room under Buddhist Society.
What do you think?
Still, using this Buddhist Society to do business.

And what kind of business are these?
By last minutes only said no bed.

Never fulfill the promises.

I not sure is it only sharing room got no bed.

Last weekdays from Monday to Thursday (12th - 15th, May 2008) I was at my home at Bandar Country Homes, Rawang.

Purpose of going back to my home is for pay my UTAR bill and pack my stuffs for shifting.

I am accepted in UTAR, Perak Campus
Taking up Foundation Leads to Bachelor of Communications (HONS) Public Relations.

I am staying a house at WestLake.
Rent a room under a Buddhist Society.
Where else they got 5 prohibitions.

Cannot kill life such as ants, crocroach, etc…
Cannot tell lies.
Cannot back home late.
Cannot bring guys home to stay overnight.
Cannot….. I also forgotten..

I living at three storey house.
One house consisted total of 12 rooms.
4 sharing rooms and 8 single rooms.

I taking sharing room as Grandma and Uncle said we’re not sure how is the condition or environment at there yet..
Plus they said, taking sharing at least got people accompany at night. Or while sleeping.
Choi choi choi if anything happen, at least got a partner..
What they said are quite make senses..

Plus taking up single, more high cost..
But, I prefer single room anyway..
More convenient..

Anyhow I obey them and take up sharing room .

So, since that I going to live at Kampar, I have to shift most of my clothes and stuffs from Rawang to Kampar.
And, I take this chance to clean up my room as well.
Between, my own room has been attacked by termites.
Threw off quite a lot of my stuffs.
And the most heartache is, my collections of S.H.E’s CDs!!
The only one that got S.H.E’s signature chop, Superstar album, also been threw!
The CDs are broken up to two pieces..

The car game.. Since primary I got it.
And the two bags. The yellow one, I still remember, when I was kiddo, I already have it. While the black one, is a gift form AmBank.

About 10 years plus ago.. LOL!

I stuffed my things into a big Polo luggage bag.
And it almost, actually, not really, that enough for me..
At 3pm, while I resting, I fill up the declaration form and index card that to be posted to UTAR via Pos Laju.
Also went to take passport size pictures of myself to include together for the post.

I pack my things on Wednesday..
As I reached on Monday night, and Tuesday, went for shopping with my Mom at One Utama.
And the last day, Thursday, went to morning market to buy a knee length pant and continue pack things while waiting my friend to fetch me back to Ipoh.

I am lucky enough that I am chosen as one of the volunteer for the 16th World Congress on Information Technology 2008.

As WCIT 2008 Registration & Access Security Volunteer during the event.

However, I have to miss out this chance as I have to get prepare myself for UTAR studies.

Coincidently, the event date had clashed with my orientation date.

Sad…

At 6.15pm Mike Lua came and fetched me together with his friends. And we all went to Melawati Indoor Stadium to watch the grand final for Project Superstar Season 3 as Mike got a numbers of free tickets from Adrian (who is one of the 24 finalists).

As we reached, I saw a lots of Kay’s supporters whom were in pink tee. But I couldn’t spot any of Hau’s supporters that should be in blue tee. Once entered the stadium to head for seating, I found that Kay’s supporters are more than Hau’s one.

And I personally support Kay anyway.

We sat next to Kay supporters’ side. The seats were for the other 22 finalists’ friends and family. And from my seat, I can saw last 2 season’s Project Superstar finalists. Not all, but some of them. The one I remember is Mei Sim. She is very cute in real life ^^. And few 8TV hosts.

Before the 8.30pm the competition start, one of the 8TV crew gave a briefing on what we should do and do not.

8.30pm had reached. Dancers are on standby. As the openings there are dancers to dance, two unknowns people sings, and finally they two grand finalists. Next, two hosts, Xin Yi and Gary came appear and greet the peoples in the stadium.

Reached home at 2.45am..

Been planned to Taiping since last week. But being postponed due to Mr. Michael.
And finally we both went there today.
Drive to Kuala Kangsar.
Then take bus from Kuala Kangsar’s bus station to Taiping.

At Kuala Kangsar, we went to Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery.
Just to pay a visit.
It somehow like museum, but just most of the things displayed is belong to Sultan of Perak state.

Example:
Cars, furnitures, keris, uniform, gifts, passports, identity cards, etc etc

You know, most of the cars are Rolls Royce and Mercedes Benz.

After all, Sultan or Agong or whoever in royal statue, since they being so gooooooood to government/theirs beloved country, Malaysia, why they are NOT SITTING OR USING MALAYSIAN CARS TO SHOW SUPPORTS INSTEAD OF USING IMPORTED ONE??!

Malaysian car such as PROTON PERDANA also not bad what..

Do you know who we saw during our visits to the Gallery?

Is the 80 years old Sultan Perak, His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Sultan Perak

Coincidently, he go to the same building of the gallery to pay a visit.
And we, Michael and I as anak orang kebanyakan, stand aside and let him come in first.
Not even bother us, his assistant or whatever, SHOO US OUT.

What attitude is this???

As a Sultan of a state, not even bother the citizen of Perak/Malaysia?

OK, forget about it. I know myself just being haggled over it.

But true lor..

The ticket counter, also the guard house, there is a board written, NO CAMERA.

Anyway, we did bring camera in, but we didn’t use it.
Just being a good citizen .

However, there is two foreigners visitor.
They even bring those huge DSLR camera.
And they enter the gallery with no worries.
Yet, the Sultan still in the gallery visiting.
None of the polices stop them or whoever stop them.

After that, B drove me to go Istana Kenangan (Kenangan Palace) (now is a tourist place) that been built without using a single nails.
Amazing? I felt it is amazing.. Because they’re not using even one single nail to build the building.
Imagine how the building maintained…
The structure was built in woods and planks.

Next, go to a place nearby the Kuala Kangsar Bus Station. Wait for his dad. For what reason, I dunno. But later on his dad brought us the way to the bus station. For us to take bus to Taiping. Then his dad leaved.

Parking ticket from 12pm to 6pm.

Traveled in a bus for one hour and reached Taiping bus station at around 1.10pm.

Walk to a hawker stall center for lunch. Having fried kuey teow.
Then, again walk to Taiping Zoo.

Oh ya, forget to mention, we taken the mini train as we’re kinda exhausted from the long walk from the food court to zoo through the lake.

After the journey of mini train has ended, we rest a while at the Zoo Central.
Then walk out from the zoo and have a short walk at the Taiping Lake Garden.

At 5pm, we leaved Taiping Bus Station.
Reached Kuala Kangsar Bus Station after an hour, and we went for Laksa~~
Then drove back home!

I couldn’t believe myself that I’ve eaten smelly tofu..

It won’t have smelly smell while you eat them when they still hot.
But when it gets cold, you can start smelling them.

As for me, I could detect the smell when I ate it..
As for Michael, he loves it..

Today is UTAR (Kampar) Open Day and I went there in this morning with my Uncle and Aunt.
Reached there quite early.
Uncle drop down my Aunt and I while he, himself went to find Uncle Hussein. Asked something regards about Foundation Studies, Loans, Accomodation and etc.

Went to Danish House to visit the rooms and so on. There is a girl silently tell us that Danish House’s services are terribly bad.There is another one, house units are belongs to Uncle Jason. Oh well, no doubt, rental price are little high but the quality of furniture, services and security are FAR more BETTER.

The rental per month is already above my budget but I do hope to get a room from Uncle Jason’s unit. Because the room units are quite limited. It is something like, “While Stock Last”.

Yesterday Nic came and fetch me around 1pm plus. Then Quincy and Michael.

While in the car, I called up TGV Ipoh to reserve tickets for movie.
However, no one answering.
Then sms-ed to Michael and ask him to call and reserve.
I call, no people answer, he call, even reserved the tickets..
But I was use Nic’s phone and call up..
Can I blame is Nic’s number bad?

I’ve told him that reserve 5 tickets.
Then he replied and ask back me, “How many seats?“

Ain’t 5 tickets are for 5 seats?

On 29th February 2008, Aunt and I went to Kledang Hill for a short walk

After the walk, we both went to a cafe at Menglembu town for a drink and have some snacks.

Today I down to KL Central all alone to meet up with Michael and Nicholas
Honestly, it is my first time went to KL alone.

While waiting train to get myself to the destination, I saw Isweljit, Hariganesan and Weyson.
Have chat with them a while in the train. They heading to Mid Valley.

Reached Kl Sentral at 11.38am. OMG! I’m late for 38 minutes!

What else other than go GSC at Times Square first? Haha..
Planned to watch movie at 2pm. But, it was selling fast and no more seats!
So, we get the 4.30pm one.

Before the movie get started, went to Waffle Stop to have some snack while I need to fill up my little tummy as I haven’t eat anything since morning

Then walked to Pavilion. Was trying to find one of my friend, Wen Jian, who worked in Pavilion..
So, I do found out his working place. Chat a while ^^

Then, unexpected that Nic so fast done with the fair. So, we met up at Pavilion right after I visited my friend.
Nic went for movie at 3pm, and Michael and I walk back to Times Square.

This whole day considered exercise a lot. I suppose. Cause of walking all day long. And only sit during movie and eating. LoL!

After movie, I go home by train from KL Central.
